2005 Travels
Saturday 31st of December 2005 :: 01:52 PM2005 Travels
2005 was not a year to proclaim the attributes of Snow Birding, at least as far as we were concerned.
The year began with high expectations of finding warm and dry weather but we seemed to find only wet and windy. There were days in which a large shining disc filled the sky, but that usually turned out to be only a teaser with a dark cloud following the next day. We stayed pretty much in the west this year and covered 9 of the western states from Canada to Mexico.
Worthy of note, other than the previously mentioned lousy weather, was our poor showing at the Lake Pend O’Reille Spring Fishing Derby. On the upbeat, we had a great RV owner’s rally in Wyoming, a family reunion in Big Sur, Ca., a great week with friends at Two Rivers, WA. and a fantastic “vacation” down the Oregon coast with our ricochet friends, Burt and Caroline.
Of course, not to be forgotten was the rendezvous in Elephant Butte, New Mexico at Aunt June’s with sister Laurie. Also, we finally hooked up with a best friend from high school and Navy days while in Idaho.
For those of you who read the Highways Magazine by Good Sam, you may have seen our article written to Good Sam about hummingbirds in the September and October issues.
